What is rolfing® STructural Integration?

Rolfing® Structural Integration is hands-on approach which systematically reorganizes the body's connective tissue system to improve human structure and well-being. It offers a revolutionary understanding of the role of connective tissue in physical function, as well as the mechanism by which the human body is distorted by experience and trauma.

Rolfing is the only method of bodywork whose ultimate goal is to evoke highly integrated and efficient ways of moving that enable your body to remain effortlessly balanced. Clients gain relief from chronic pain and injuries, find increased ease and vitality in their bodies, and move with better body mechanics and less strain.

What are the benefits of Rolfing Structural Integration?

Rolfing Structural Integration can improve balance, flexibility and athletic performance. It is helpful for dealing with common body stresses including low back pain, headaches, neck and shoulder tension, poor posture, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ syndrome and much more. Additionally, Rolfing effectively addresses chronic stress and provides both nervous system integration and emotional support.

What is the treatment protocol of Rolfing?

Rolfing is usually performed in a series of 10 sessions, providing a systematic protocol for complete transformation of the entire body. Each session targets a specific body area and integrates it into more coherent alignment. This holistically shifts the body towards greater functionality over 10 sessions. I offer Rolfing both in the traditional 10-series format, as well as in a more free form application, for clients who prefer a single session, or a shorter series.

This is the gospel of Rolfing: when the body gets working appropriately, the forces of gravity can flow through. Then, spontaneously, the body heals itself.
